Barbara Jane Hannon is the daughter of the couple whose WWII story is told in this book. After their deaths, she found a box of letters, telegrams, and other war documents from WWII that revealed her parents’ lives during the war years. Although she says her parents never talked much about the war, the story of what happened to them that unfolded through their letters, moved her to share it as an example of the strength, courage and commitment of a generation that lived through an extraordinary time.
